هُو: الإسُبوع القَادِم

Instructor: next week

هِي: أحمد..أحمد .. تَصحَبُكَ السَلاَمَة يا أحمد

هُو: تَصحَبُني السلاَمَة !! ... لِماذا ؟

هِي: أنتَ مُسافِرٌ غَدا ً في عُطلَة

هُو: لا لا.. أنا سَاُسافِر الجُمُعَة القَادِمة ... وأنتِ مَتى سَتُسافرِينَ في عُطلَة؟

هِي: عندى عَملٌ كَثيرٌ لا أستطيعُ أن أذهَبَ في عُطلَة

هُو: يا للأسَف.....يا خسارة

هُو: إستَمٍع للمُحادَثَة مَرة أُخرى

هِي: أحمد..أحمد .. تَصحَبُكَ السَلاَمَة يا أحمد

هُو: تَصحَبُني السلاَمَة !! ... لِماذا ؟

هِي: أنتَ مُسافِرٌ غَدا ً في عُطلَة

هُو: لا لا.. أنا سَاُسافِر الجُمُعَة القَادِمة ... وأنتِ مَتى سَتُسافرِينَ في عُطلَة؟

هِي: عندى عَملٌ كَثيرٌ لا أستطيعُ أن أذهَبَ في عُطلَة

هُو: يا للأسَف.....يا خسارة

Instructor: now you’re having a coffee with a colleague in a café, you know that your coffee isn’t very hot, ask her "is your coffee cold?"

هُو: هَل قَهوَتُكِ بَارِدَة؟

هُو: هَل قَهوَتُكِ بَارِدَة؟

Instructor: she says no it’s very good

هِي: لا هِي جيدة جِدا ً

Instructor: it’s not cold

هِي:  لَيسَت بارِدة

هُو: إسأل

Instructor: where is the sugar?

هُو: أينَ السُكَر؟

Instructor: later how would you ask her is your coffee still hot?

هُو: هَل مازَلَت قَهوَتُكِ ساخِنَة ؟

Instructor: she answers yes it’s very good and not cold

هِي: نَعَم هي جيدة جِدا ً ....ولَيسَت بارِدَة

Instructor: it’s still very hot

هِي: هِي مَازَلت سَاخِنة جِدا ً

Instructor: she tells you I’m travelling to Spain tomorrow

هِي: أنا مُسافِرةٌ إلى أسبانيا غَدا ً

Instructor: there is a symposium on Tuesday

هُو: توجَد ندوة في الثُلاثاء

Instructor: she says that’s too bad

هِي: يا للأسَف......ياخسارة

هُو: قُل

Instructor: I don’t understand

هُو: لا أفهَم

Instructor: she explains I’m travelling to Spain tomorrow

هِي: أنا مُسافِرة إلى أسبانيا غَدا ً

Instructor: I can’t go to the symposium with you

هِي: لا أستَطيعُ أن أذهَب إلى الندوة مَعكَ

هُو: قُل

Instructor: we can go together after your return

هُو: نستطيعُ أن نَذهبَ معا ً بَعد عودتِكِ .. بَعد عودتِكِ من السَفرِ

Instructor: how would you tell her to have a good trip?

هُو: تَصحَبُكِ السَلاَمَة

Instructor: now she asks you when you are travelling on vacation

هِي: مَتي سَتُسافِرُ فى عُطلَة ؟

هُو: قُل

Instructor: I’m going on Thursday night

هُو: سأذهَبُ الخَميس ليلا ً

Instructor: Thursday night after work

هُو: الخَميسُ ليلا ً بَعد العَمل

Instructor: you want to tell her I’m travelling to Egypt

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: أنا مُسافِرٌ إلى مِصر .. مِصر

هُو: مُسافِرٌ إلى مِصر

Instructor: and how do you say I’m going to Egypt

هُو: مُسافِرٌ إلى مِصر

Instructor: here is how she says Egypt is very beautiful

هِي: مِصر جَميلَة جدا ً .. جَميلَة .. جَميلَة جدا ً

هِي: مِصر جَميلَة جدًا

Instructor: now say again that you are travelling to Egypt

هُو: أنا مُسافِرٌ إلى مِصر

Instructor: she wants to say that there are too many things to see there

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: توجَد أشياءٌ كَثيرة لِتراها هُناكَ .. أشياءٌ كَثيرة .. لِتراها

هِي: توجَد أشياءٌ كَثيرة لِتراها هُناكَ .. أشياءٌ كَثيرة ..لتراها  

Instructor: now say that you like Egypt a lot

هُو: أحبُ مِصرَ كَثيرا ً

Instructor: she says again Egypt is very beautiful

هِي: مِصر جَميلَة جداً

Instructor: how does she say have a good trip?

هِي: تَصحَبُكَ السَلاَمَة

Instructor: how does she say there are too many things to see there?

هِي: توجَد أشياء كَثيرة لِتراها هُناكَ

Instructor: how does she ask you “when are you travelling”?

هِي: مَتي سَتُسافِر ؟

Instructor: do you remember how to say “a few weeks”

هُو: في بضع أسَابِيع

Instructor:  week or a week

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: إسبُوع .. إسبُوع

Instructor:  here’s how she asks this week

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي:هَذا الإسبُوع ؟ .. إسبُوع .. هَذا

هِي:هَذا الإسبُوع  ؟

Instructor: how does she ask this week?

هِي:هَذا الإسبُوع ؟

Instructor: no not this week

هُو: لا لَيس هَذا الإسبُوع

هُو: لا لَيس هَذا الإسبُوع

Instructor: this week I have a lot of work

هُو: هَذا الإسُبوع عندى عَمَلٌ كَثير

Instructor: here’s how you tell her I’m travelling next week

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: سأُسافِرُ الإسُبوعَ القَادِم .. القَادِم .. الإسُبوعَ القَادِم

Instructor: those words run together, say next week. Literally “the week the next”

هُو: الإسُبوعَ القَادِم .. القَادِم

Instructor: how does she ask you” are you travelling next week”

هِي: هَل سَتُسافِرُ الإسبُوعَ القَادِم ؟

Instructor: do you remember how to say” Thursday”

هُو: الخَميس .. خَميس

Instructor: now try to say next Thursday

هُو: الخَميسُ القادِم .. القادِم .. الخَميسُ القادِم  

Instructor: remember that when you are speaking as a man say “I’m travelling next Thursday to Egypt”

هُو: سأُسافِرُ الخَميسَ القادِم إلى مِصر

Instructor: your colleague says:" there are too many things to see in Egypt"

هِي: توجَد أشياءٌ كَثيرةٌ لِتراها هُناكَ

Instructor: Egypt is very beautiful

هِي: مِصر جَميلَة جدا ً .. جَميلَة

Instructor: speaking about a man say this week my friend is coming to visit me

هُو: هَذا الإسبُوع صَديقي سَيأتي ليزورَني

Instructor: but without his wife

هُو: لَكِن بِدون زَوجِه

Instructor: she says that’s too bad

هِي: يا للأسَف....ياخسارة

Instructor: he will stay until next Thursday

هُو: سَيمكثُ إلى الخَميسِ القادِم

هُو: سَيمكثُ إلى الخَميسِ القادِم

Instructor: his wife is travelling in Spain

هُو: زَوجُه مُسافِرةٌ إلى أسبانيا

Instructor: your friend tells you Spain is very beautiful

هِي: أسبانيا جَميلَة جدا ً

Instructor: now here’s the word for “the weather”

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: الطَقس .. طَقس .. الطَقس

Instructor: how do you ask a friend how is it going?

هُو: كَيف الحَال ؟

Instructor: now try to ask how is the weather?

هَو: كِيف الطَقس ؟

Instructor: how does your college ask "how is the weather in Egypt now?"

هِي: كِيف الطَقسُ في مِصرِ الأن؟

هِي: كِيف الطَقسُ في مِصر الأن؟

Instructor: she says to you you’re going to Egypt next week

هِي: ستُسافِرُ إلى مِصر الإسبُوعَ القادِم

Instructor: Egypt is very beautiful

هِي: مِصر جَميلَة جدا ً

Instructor: but how is the weather there now?

هِي: لَكِن كِيف الطَقسُ هُناك الأن؟

Instructor: you want to tell her that the weather is not cold, here is the word cold for weather which is a masculine word in this case.

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: بَارِد .. بَارِد

Instructor: try to say the weather is not cold

هُو: الطَقسُ غيرُ بارِد

Instructor: you want to say that’s nice

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: لَطيف .. لَطيف .. لَطيف

Instructor: how do you say" very nice" when referring to the weather?

هُو: لَطيفٌ جدا ً

Instructor: she asks again, how is the weather in Egypt Now?

هِي: كِيف الطَقسُ في مِصر الأن؟

Instructor: the weather is very nice

هُو: الطَقسُ لَطيفٌ جدا ً

هُو: أجِب

Instructor: in Egypt the weather is very nice now

هُو:في مِصر الطَقس لَطيف جدا ً الأن

Instructor: how do you think you would say it isn’t very nice in Damascus Now?

هُو: غيرُ لَطيفٌ جداً في دمشق الأن.. غيرُ لَطيف

هُو: غيرُ لَطيفٌ في دمشق الأن

Instructor: we use a different word for hot when describing the weather, here’s how to say:" it’s very hot at the moment."

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: إنهُ حَارٌ جدا ً الأن .. حَارّ .. حَارّ جدا ً الأن

Instructor: the weather in Damascus isn’t nice today

هُو: الطَقسُ في دمشق غيرُ لَطيف اليَوم .. الطَقس

Instructor: it’s very hot

هُو: إنّهُ حَارٌ  جدا ً

Instructor: now it’s another day and you’re speaking with a colleague in Damascus, say that you’re going to Egypt next week

هُو: سأذهَبُ إلى مِصر الإسُبوعَ القادِم

Instructor: she says: "Egypt is very beautiful"

هِي: مِصر جَميلَةٌ جدا ً

Instructor: how does she ask, how is the weather in Egypt

هِي: كِيف الطَقسُ في مِصر ؟

Instructor: say that in Damascus it’s not very hot at the moment

هُو: في دمشق لَيس حَاراً جدا ً الأن

Instructor: but in Egypt it’s very nice

هُو: لَكِن في مِصر لَطيفٌ جدا ً

Instructor: it’s not cold

هُو: لَيس بارِد

هُو: لَيس بارِد

Instructor: and it’s not hot

هُو:و لَيس حارا ً

Instructor: she asks again, how is the weather?

هِي: كِيف الطَقسُ ؟

Instructor: it’s very nice now

هُو: إنهُ لَطيفٌ جدا ً الأن

Instructor: it’s not cold and it isn’t hot

هُو: لَيس بارِدا ً و لَيس حارا ً

Instructor: I’m going to Egypt next week and you?

هُو: سأذهَبُ إلى مِصر الإسبُوعَ القَادِم وأنتِ ؟

Instructor: when are you travelling on vacation?

هُو: مَتي سَتُسافرينَ في عُطلَة ؟

Instructor: Do you remember how to say a few dollars

هُو: بضعُ دولارات .. بضع

Instructor: here’s how she says:" I’m not travelling for a few weeks"

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: أنا غيرُ مسَافِر لِبضعِ أسَابيع .. أسَابيع ..

هِي: أنا غيرُ مسَافِر لِبضعِ أسَابيع

Instructor: how does she say for a few weeks?

هِي: لبضعِ أسَابيع

Instructor: she says:" I prefer to wait until January or February"

هِي: أنا أفَضِلُ أن أنتظِرَ لِشهَر يَناير أو فِبراير

Instructor: I have a lot of work at the moment

هِي: عندى عَمَلٌ كَثيرٌ الأن

Instructor: that’s too bad

هُو: يا للأسَف

هُو: يا للأسَف......يا خسارة

Instructor: you ask” how is her husband?” and say I have a letter for him

هُو: كيف زوجُها ؟ ....عندى رِسالة لهُ .. له

Instructor: she tells you “I will see my husband after work”

هِي: سَأري زَوجِي بعَد العَمل .. سَأرى

Instructor: she is leaving in a few minutes and offers to take the letter with her; she says:" I will buy a coffee for him too"

هِي: سَأشتري قَهوةً  لَهُ أيضا ً

Instructor: after you order she tells you I’m not travelling for a few weeks

هِي: أنا غيرُ مسَافِرة لِبضعِ أسَابيع

Instructor: how does she say I’m going on vacation in February or January?

هِي: سأذهَبُ في عُطلَة في فِبراير أوينَاير

Instructor: ask her where do you want to go?

هُو:إلي أينَ سَتذهَبين؟

هُو:إلي أينَ سَتذهَبين؟

Instructor: to Egypt?

هُو: إلى مِصر؟

Instructor: she says no I know Egypt very well

هِي: لا..أنا أعرِفُ مِصرَ جيدا ً

Instructor: I want to go to Malaysia

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: أُريدُ أن أذهَب إلى ماليزيا.. ماليزيا

هِي: أُريدُ أن أذهَبَ إلى ماليزيا

Instructor: how does she say I want to go to Malaysia?

هِي: أُريد أن أذهَبَ إلى ماليزيا

Instructor: there are many things to see in England

هِي: توجَد أشياءٌ كَثيرة لِتراها في ماليزيا.. تراها

Instructor: To Malaysia

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هِي: إلى ماليزيا ..ماليزيا

Instructor: ask her" how is the weather in England"

هُو: كَيف الطَقسُ في ماليزيا

Instructor: in January

هُو: في يناير

Instructor: how does she say I don’t know?

هِي: لا أعرِف

Instructor: ask her you don’t know Malaysia

هُو: أنتِ لا تَعرفين ماليزيا.. ماليزيا.. أنتِ لا تَعرفين ماليزيا

Instructor: she says no I haven’t seen Malaysia yet

هِي: لا لَم أري ماليزيا بَعد

Instructor: but I have some friends there

هِي: لَكِن عندى بَعض الأصدقِاءِ هُناكَ

Instructor: how is the weather in Malaysia?

هُو: كَيف الطَقس في ماليزيا

Instructor: in Malaysia

هُو: في ماليزيا

Instructor: in January and in February

هُو: في يَناير و في فِبراير

Instructor: try to ask is the weather cold

هُو: هل الطَقسُ بَارِد؟

هُو: هل الطَقسُ بَارِد؟

Instructor: she answers you of course it’s not hot

هِي: بِالطَبع لَيس حارا ً ولَكِنه لَطيف

Instructor: there are many things to see in Malaysia

هِي: توجَد أشياءٌ كَثيرة لِتراها في ماليزيا.. تَراها

Instructor: how is the weather?

هُو: كَيف الطَقسُ ؟

Instructor: she tells you, it’s not very hot in Damascus at the moment

هِي: لَيس حاراً جدا ً في دمشق الأن

Instructor: but in Malaysia it’s very nice

هِي: لَكِن في ماليزيا لَطيفٌ جِدا ً

Instructor: say that in Damascus, weather is very hot sometimes

هُو: في دمشق الطقسُ حَارٌ جِدا ً أحيانا ً

Instructor: say that you must leave now

هُو: لابُد ان أُرحلَ الأن

هُو: لابُد ان أُرحلَ الأن

Instructor: she picks up the coffee for her husband and reminds you I will see my husband after work

هِي: سأرى زَوجي بَعد العَمَل

Instructor: yes, I have a letter for him

هُو: نعم ، عندى رِسالة لهُ

Instructor: you need to get it from your car, and ask her to wait a minute; she says:" of course I have a coffee for him too"

هِي: انتظري دقيقة .... بالتأكِيد عندى قَهوة لهُ أيضا ً

Instructor: and it’s still hot

هِي: ومَازالَت سَاخِنة .. سَاخِنة

Instructor: you come back with the letter and say:" we can have lunch together after my return"

هُو: نستطيعُ أن نَتناوَلَ الغَداء معا ً بَعد عودَتي مِن السَفَر

Instructor: alright, have a good trip

هِي: حَسنا ً..تَصحَبُكَ السَلاَمَة

Instructor: now you’re sightseeing with a friend, it’s been raining for few days say the weather isn’t nice

هُو: الطَقسُ لَيس جَيداً

Instructor: the weather is cold

هُو: الطَقسُ بَارِد

Instructor: you’d like to order an ice cream, here’s how to say one ice cream

هُو : إسْتَمِع و أعِد

هُو: واحِد بُوظَة  .. بُوظَة

هُو: واحِد بُوظَة مِن فَضلِك

Instructor: how does the waitress ask chocolate ice cream?

هِي: بُوظَة بِالشُوكولاتة ؟

Instructor: yes, one ice cream please and coffee

هُو: نعم ...واحِد بُوظَة مِن فَضلِك و قَهوة

Instructor: a chocolate ice cream please and a hot coffee

هُو: واحِد بُوظَة بالشيكولاتة مِن فَضلِك و قَهوة سَاخِنَة

Instructor: ask your female friend: "do you want an ice cream or cake?"

هُو: هَل تُريدينَ بُوظَة أم كعكة .. أم كعكة ؟

Instructor: she answers you saying:" a piece of chocolate cake"

هِي: قِطعَة من كعكة الشُوكولاتَه..

Instructor: and a cup of hot coffee please

هِي: وكوباً من القَهوة السَاخِنة مِن فَضلِك

Instructor: looking for the sugar on the table she asks: "where is the sugar?"

هِي: أيِن َ السُكَر ؟

هِي: أيِن َ السُكَر ؟

Instructor: while waiting your friend asks:" what did you order?" tell her: " a chocolate ice cream for me"

هُو: بُوظَة بِالشُوكولاته لي

Instructor: and a piece of chocolate cake for you

هُو: و قِطعَةَ من كعكةِ الشُوكولاتَهِ لكِ

Instructor: and sugar…. there is no sugar

هُو: وسُكَر . لا يُوجَد سُكَر

Instructor: now ask your female colleague: "when are you travelling to Malaysia?"

هُو: مَتى سَتُسافرينَ إلى ماليزيا ؟

Instructor: she answers I’m travelling to Malaysia next Thursday

هِي: سَأُسافِرُ إلى ماليزيا الخَميسَ القَادِم

Instructor: the weather is very nice now

هي: الطقسُ لطيف ٌ جداً الآن

Instructor: and I will see my girlfriends there

هي: و سأري  صديقاتي هناك

Instructor: he says: "this is a good idea"

هو : هذه فكرة طيبة ......هذه فكرة جيدة

Instructor: I would like to visit Malaysia next year

هو : أحبُّ أن أزورَ ماليزيا العام َ القادم

Instructor: how do you say "next yea"

هو : العامَ القادم

هي: العام َ القادم

Instructor: say to her we can have lunch together after your return

هُو: نستطيعُ أن نَتناوَلَ الغَداءَ معا ً بَعد عودَتُكِ مِن السَفَر

Instructor: later as she is leaving you say have a good trip

هُو: تَصحَبُكِ السَلاَمَة

Instructor: This is the end of unit 45 and the end of today’s lesson
