هو: استَمِع إلىَ هَذِهِ المُحادثَة
هى : يا دانيال أرِيدُ أن أتحدثَ معكَ عن هذِهِ الرحلة
هو : ولكِن لمَاذا ؟
هى : هَل تُرِيدُ أن تَعُودَ إلى حَلب ؟
هو : نَعم واعَتِقدُ أنكِ تُريدِينَ الذهَابَ إلى هُناك أيضًا
هى : ولكن اعتقُدُ أن حَلب غالية ..
هو : لا ليَسَت كذِلك . أنا أعرِفُ فُندُقًا صَغِيرًا وليَس غَاليًا
هو: سوفَ احجزُ حالاً
هى : حسنًا... وأنا سوف أشتَرِىَ تَذاكرَ الطَائِرة
هو: استَمِع إلى هَذهِ المحادَثةِ مرةً اخرى

Instructor: how do you say I didn’t have my credit cards with me?
هو : لم تكن بطاقاتُ الائتِمانِ الخاصةِ بي معي
Instructor: now you and your wife are at dinner talking about an upcoming vacation
هو : ُأريدُ أن أتحدثَ معَكِ عن هذهِ الرِحلة
Instructor: ask her where you would like to go to Aleppo or to Cairo
هو : إلى أينَ تُريدينَ الذهَاب ؟... إلى حَلب أمْ إلى القاهِرة ؟
Instructor: she says I want to go back to Aleppo
هى : اُريدُ الرجوعَ إلى حَلب
Instructor: she asks you do you remember the name of the hotel
هى : هل تتذكرُ اسمَ الفندُق؟
Instructor: tell her yes of course, the hotel is called "Al-Horreya"
هو: فُندق الحرية
هو : نعَم بالطبعِ الفنُدق اسمُهُ فندُق الحرية
Instructor: she asks you did you book the hotel.
هى : هل حَجزتُ الفندُق ؟
هى : هل حَجزتَ الفندُق ؟
Instructor: tell her you will book tomorrow
هو : سوفَ احَجِزُ غداً
Instructor: she says it’s late you need to make it right away
هى : الوقتُ متأخِر .. لابدّ ان تفعلَها حالاً
هو: قُل
Instructor: yesterday, I didn’t have my credit cards with me
هو : البارحة لم تَكُن بِطَاقَاتُ الائتِمانِ الخَاصةِ بي معي
Instructor: she says I want to speak with you about the hotel
هى : أريدُ ان أتحدثَ مَعكَ عن الفندُق
Instructor: yes, we went there four years ago
هو : ذهبنا إلى هُناك منذُ أربعِ سنوات
Instructor: it’s called hotel "Al-Horreya"
هو : اسمُهُ فندُق الحرية
Instructor: do you remember the hotel?
هى : هل تتذكرُ الفندق .. ؟
Instructor: tell her yes, of course I remember
هو : بالطبعِ أتذكرُ
Instructor: do you remember how to ask a man when would you return?
هى : مَتى سَترجع ؟
هى : ترجع
Instructor: how would she say to you I thought you want to return there?
هى : اعتقدت ُ أنَكَ تُريدُ الرجوعَ إلى هَناك
هى : تَعود
Instructor: tell her I will book tomorrow
هو : نعَم سَوفَ أحجِزُ غداً
Instructor: the next day you ask her, have you seen my pen?
هو : هل رأيتِ قلمِى ؟
هو : هل رأيتِ قلمِى ؟
Instructor: she says I saw your pen two minutes ago
هى : رأيتُهُ مُنذُ دقيقتَين .
Instructor: it was on this table next to your papers
هي: كان على هَذِهِ المِنضَدة بجِوارِ أوراقِك
Instructor: she says but your pen isn’t on the table now
هى : لكِن قلمَكَ ليس على المِنضدَةِ الآن
Instructor: she says I want to speak to you about the trip
هى : أنا أرِيدُ التحدُثَ معكَ عن هذه الرِحلة
Instructor: did you book the hotel?
هى : هل حَجزتَ الفندُق؟
Instructor: tell her I will book today
هو : سَوفَ احجِزُ اليَوم
هو : سَوفَ احجِزُ اليَوم
Instructor: she says you need to do it right away
هى : لابدّ أن تفعلَها حالاً
هو: قُل
Instructor: my credit cards
هو : بطَاقاتُ الائتمانِ الخاصَةِ بي
Instructor: try to say yesterday my credit cards were at home
هو : البارحة ، بطاقاتُ الائتمانِ الخاصَةِ بى كانت بالمنزِل
Instructor: referring to the reservation she says I can make them on behalf of you
هى : أنا استطيعُ أن أفعلَها نيابةً عنك .
هي: نيابةً عنك
Instructor: but I must make them right away
هي: لَكِن لابُدّ ان أفعَلَ ذلك حالاً
هي: افعَل ذلك
Instructor: now she asks if this pen yours.
هى : هل هَذا قلمُك؟
Instructor: it was on the table under a book
هي: كَان على المِنضَدةِ تحتَ كِتاب
هو: كَيف َ تَقوُل
Instructor: the plane tickets
هو : تَذاكِرُ الطائِرة
Instructor: now she asks you did you buy the plane tickets.
هى : هل اشتريتُ تذاكرَ الطائِرة؟
Instructor: no I didn’t have my credit cards with me
هو : لا لم تَكن بِطاقَاتُ الائتِمانِ الخَاصةِ بي معي
Instructor: tell her I can buy the tickets tomorrow morning
هو : أستطيعُ شراؤها غداً صَباحاً
Instructor: you want to say I can pay for the tickets. First here’s to pay
هو : استمِع واعِد
هو : ادفَع

Instructor: we’re going to Cairo right?
هو : سوفَ نذهبُ إلى القَاهرة ...حقًا ؟...صحيح ؟
Instructor: she says quickly:" no to Aleppo"
هى : لا... إلى حَلب
هو: قُل
Instructor: I thought you want to go to Cairo
هو : كنتُ أعتقدُ أنك تُريدينَ الذهابِ إلى القاهرة
Instructor: tell her I can pay for the plane tickets to Aleppo
هو : أستطيعُ أن أدفعَ تذاكِرَ الطائِرةِ إلى حلب
Instructor: by credit card
هو : ببِطاقةِ الائتِمان
Instructor: we can go back to Cairo in February
هو : نستطيعُ الرجوعَ إلى القاهِرةِ في فبراير
Instructor: now she asks have you booked the hotel.
هى : هل حجزتَ الفندُق؟
Instructor: she offers I can make it on behalf of you
هى : أستطيعُ أن أفَعلَها نيابةً عنك.
Instructor: but I must make it right away
هى : لكن لابُدّ أن أفعلَها حالاً
هى : أفعل
Instructor: but first you have to buy the plane tickets
هى : لكن أولاً لابُدّ أن تشترىَ تذاكِرَ الطائِرة
Instructor: referring to the reservations she says
I can make it on behalf of you
هى : أستطيعُ أن أفعلَها نيابةَ عنك
Instructor: how do you ask her, she remembers the name of the hotel?
هو : هل تتذكرِينَ اسمَ الفندُق ؟
Instructor: and how would she say yes of course I remember?
هى : نعم.... بالطبعِ أتذكِر
Instructor: she says it’s called
هى : اسمُهُ

Instructor: she can’t remember. Remind her it was near a good restaurant
هو : كَان بِجِوارِ مطعَمٍ جَيد
Instructor: try to ask her do you remember the name of the restaurant?
هو : هل تتذكرينَ اسمَ المطعم؟
Instructor: she tells you the name of the hotel is Al-Horreya in Aleppo
هى : اسمُ الفندُق الحرية في حَلب
Instructor: but I don’t remember the name of the restaurant
هى : لكن لا أتذكرُ اسمَ المطعَمُ
Instructor: tell her that you can buy the tickets
هو : أستطيعُ شِراءَ التذاكِر
Instructor: tell her I can buy the tickets tomorrow morning
هو : أستطيعُ شِراءَ التذاكِرِ غداً صباحاً
Instructor: and then I will book the hotel
هو : وبعَدَ ذلك سَاحجِزُ الفُندُق
Instructor: I can make it in Aleppo
هو : أستطيعُ أن أفعلَها في حَلب
هو: اسال
Instructor: Do they accept the American express card?
هو : هَل يقبَلون بِطاقةَ أميرِكان اكسِبريس؟
Instructor: she answers yes I think so but I can’t remember
هى : نعَم أعتقدُ ذلك ، لكن لا أتَذكَر
Instructor: teasing, how you say but I thought you want to go to Cairo
هو : كنتُ أعتقدُ أنكِ ترِيدينَ الذهابَ إلى القاهِرة
Instructor: no we’re going to Aleppo
هى : لا نَحنُ ذاهبِين إلى حَلب
Instructor: a few days later tell her that you book the tickets to Aleppo
هو : لقدُ حجزتُ التذاكِرَ إلى حلب .
Instructor: you want to say here they are, it’s the same
word you learned to say here it’s. Try it
هو: تفَضَلي
هو: تفَضَلي
Instructor: and have you booked the hotel?
هى : وهَل حَجزتَ الفندُق؟
Instructor: tell her that you will make the reservations this morning
هو : سَوف أحجزُ هذا الصباح
Instructor: she reminds you of some luggage she wants to
buy. Tell her I can pay by credit card
هو : أستَطيعُ أن أدفعَ ببِطاقةِ الائتِمان
Instructor: if they accept the American express card
هو : اذا قبلوا بطاقةَ أمِريكان إكسِبريس
Instructor: later tell her I made the reservations this morning
هو : حَجزتُ هذا الصباح
Instructor: now you are visiting your sister in her new
apartment. Here’s how to say your apartment is very nice
هو : استمِع واعِد
هو : شَقتِكِ لَطِيفةٌ جدًا
هو : شَقتِك
هو : تِك
هو : شقتِكِ لَطِيفةٌ جداً
هو: شقتِكِ لَطِيفة
كيف تَقول
Instructor: your apartment to a woman
هو: شَقتِكِ
هو: لطيفة
Instructor: means nice or beautiful when referring to a
feminine object. Listen as she says there is a nice garden in the back
هى : توجدُ حَديقةٌ جَميلةٌ في الخَلف
هى : توجدُ حَديقةٌ جَميلةٌ في الخَلف
Instructor: here’s the word for "in the back"
هو : استمِع واعِد
هى : في الخَلف

Instructor: tell her that her apartment is very nice
هو : شقتكِ لَطِيفةٌ جدًا

Instructor: she says thanks

Instructor: now here’s how she says garden
هو : استمِع واعِد

Instructor: she tells you there is a small garden
هي: توجد حديقةٌ صَغيرة

Instructor: in the back there is a garden too
هو : في الخلفِ توجَدُ حَديقةٌ أيضًاً ؟

Instructor: yes there is a small garden
هى :نعم توجد حديقةٌ صَغيرة
Instructor: try to tell her the garden is very nice
هو : الحديقةُ جَميلةٌ جدًا
Instructor: noting that garden is feminine how would she say it’s small but nice
هى : إنها صَغيرة ولكن جَميلة
هى : إنها صَغيرة ولكِن جمَيلة
Instructor: you want to know, where she parks her car. Here’s how to say you park to a woman
هو : استمِع واعِد
هو : تَقفي
هو : قف
هو : قفي

Instructor: how do you ask do you park in the back?
هو : هل تقِفي في الخَلف ؟
Instructor: or in the front
هو : استمِع واعِد
هو : أم في الامَام؟
هو : امَام

Instructor: in front of
هو : أمَام
Instructor: she tells you again there is a small garden in the back
هى : توجد حَديقةٌ صَغيرةٌ في الخَلف

Instructor: but where do you park?
هو : ولكِن أينَ تقفي ؟
Instructor: in front of
هو : أمَام
Instructor: ask again where do you park?
هو : أين تقَفي ؟
هو : اسال
Instructor: Do you park in front of your apartment?
هو : هل تَقفي أمَام شقتِك ؟
هو : أمام
Instructor: she tells you:" yes in the front not in the back."
هى : نعم في الأمَام وليسَ في الخَلف
Instructor: there is a small garden in the back
هى : توجد حَديقةٌ صَغيرةٌ في الخَلف
Instructor: tell her again your apartment is very nice
هو : شقتِكِ لَطيفة جدًا
Instructor: on another day you’re talking with your wife, ask her what about going to restaurant Al-Mashawy tonight?
هو : ما رأيِكِ أن نذهَبَ إلى مطعَمِ المشاوي الليلة ؟
Instructor: your wife asks don’t you remember
هى : ألا تتذكَر ؟
Instructor: did you notice …" don't you" in Arabic? …hear it again.
هي: ألا .....ألا
هي: ألا تتذكّر ؟
Instructor: tonight we are going to a party
هى : الليلة سنذهَبُ إلى حَفلة
هو : اسال
Instructor: really tonight?
هو :حقاً . الليلة ؟
Instructor: do you remember how to say it starts referring to a party
هى : تبدأ
هى : تبدأ
Instructor: now she says:" yes, the party starts at 8 o’clock"
هى : نعم.. الحَفلة تبدأ السَاعة الثامِنة
Instructor: ask her do they accept the American express card?
هو : هل يقبلون بطاقةَ ائتمانِ أميرِكان اكِسبريس ؟
Instructor: your wife says, yes I think so
هى : نَعم أعتقدُ ذلِك
Instructor: she asks don’t you remember?
هى : ألا تتذكر ؟
Instructor: tell her that you can pay for the tickets by credit card
هو : أستطيعُ أن أدفعَ التذاكِرَ ببِطاقةِ الائتِمان
Instructor: if they accept the American express card
هو : إذا يقبلوا بِطاقةَ ائتِمانِ أميرِكان اكسِبريس
Instructor: tell her:" this morning, I didn’t have it with me"
هو : هذا الصباح لم تكن معي.
