Instructor: you just heard

Instructor: which here means, here they are

Instructor: how does the waiter say here’s the menu?
هو: تفَضّل قائِمةَ الطَعَام
Instructor: ask your friend what would she like to drink?
هو: ماذا تُحبي أن تَشرَبي ؟
Instructor: how would she say that she always drinks red tea?
هي: أنا دائما ً أشَرَبُ الشَايَ الأحمَر
Instructor: say that you too like red tea, remember that with
like, you say the tea the red
هو: أنا أيضا ً أ ُحب ُ الشَايَ الأحمَر
Instructor: pointing to an item ask her, have you seen this
tea on the menu?
هو: هَل رأيتِ هذا الشَاي في قَائِمةِ الطَعاَم ؟
Instructor: how about ordering this tea
هي: مَا رأيُكِ أن نَطلُبَ هَذا الشَاي ؟
Instructor: the waiter asks you both, what would you like to order?
هو: ماذا تَطلبون ?
هو: أجِب
Instructor: we would like this tea
هو: نريدُ هَذا الشَاي
Instructor: the waiter says a pot of tea ?
هو: ابِريق مِن الشَاى .. ؟
Instructor: your friend says to you, yes and how about ordering.
هي: نَعم, ومَا رأيُكَ أن نَطلُب.

هي: بَعضَ الحَلوى ؟
Instructor: tell her that’s a good idea
هو: هذهِ فِكرَةٌ جَيدة
Instructor: how the waiter did ask you both, what would you like to order?
هو: ماذا تَطلبون؟
Instructor: how do you ask him, what do you recommend?
هو: بمَاذا تنصَحُنا ؟
Instructor: he tells you and your friend says, what about ordering this tea
هي: ومَا رأيُكَ أن نَطلُبَ هَذا الشَاي ؟

هو: سنَطلُبُ إبِريقًا من الشَاى

Instructor: later at work you ask a female college have you seen my pen.
هو: هَل رَأيتِ قَلَمي ؟
هو: هَل رَأيتِ قَلَمي ؟
Instructor: she answers, no, I’m sorry
هي: لا .. أنا آسفة
Instructor: referring to the pen tell her it was on the table.
Remember pen is masculine in Arabic language.
هو: كَان َ على المِنضَدة
Instructor: next to my papers
هو: بِجوارِ أوراقِي
Instructor: she asks your papers?
هي: أورَاقُك؟
Instructor: yes and my papers were under a book
هو: نَعَم و أوراقِي كَانوا تَحتَ كِتاب
Instructor: ask her, have you seen my papers?
هو: هل رَأيتِ أوراقِي ؟
Instructor: now she asks, is it yours this book?
هي: هَل هَذا كِتابُك ؟
هو: أجِب
هو: نَعَم . إنه كِتابي .. شُكرا ً
Instructor: is my book under my book or next to my papers?
هو: هَل قَلَمي تَحتَ كِتاب أو بِجوارِ أوراقي ؟
Instructor: how would she say, your pen.
هي: قَلَمُك .. مَك .. قَلَمُك
Instructor: your pen isn’t on the table
هي: قَلَمُكَ لَيس على المِنضَدة
Instructor: and it’s not under the table
هي: و لَيس تَحتَ المِنضَدة
هو: قُل
Instructor: my pen is next to my papers
هو: قَلَمَي كَان بجوارِ أوراقِي
Instructor: she says but your papers aren’t there now?
هي: لَكِنَّ أوراقَكَ لَيسَت هُناكَ الأن
Instructor: and your pen isn’t here
هي: و قَلَمُكَ لَيسَ هُنا
Instructor: here’s the word for I remember
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: أتَذّكّر .. ذّكّر .. أتَذّكّر
هو: قُل
Instructor: I remember my papers were here
هو: أتَذّكّرُ أورَاقي كَانوا هُنا .. كَانوا
Instructor: two minutes ago
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين .. تين .. دَقيقَتين
هو: مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين
Instructor: notice the order in Arabic language is ago two minutes, say two minutes ago
هو: مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين
هو: قُل
Instructor: I remember
هو: أتَذّكّر
Instructor: here’s how to say this table
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: هَذِهِ المِنضَدة .. هَذه
هو: هَذِهِ المِنضَدة
Instructor: and now here’s on this table
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: على هَذه المِنضَدة .. علىَ
هو: على هَذه المِنضَدة
هو: قَل
Instructor: my papers were on this table two minutes ago
هو: أوراقَي كَانوا على هَذِه المِنضَدةِ مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين
Instructor: here’s how she asks you, don’t you remember?
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هي: ألا تتَذَكَر ؟ .. تتَذَكَر .. ذَكَر

Instructor: how would she ask you, are your papers over there?
هي: هَل أوراقَكَ هُناك؟
Instructor: and how would she ask, don’t you remember?

Instructor: now she asks, is it yours this pen?

هي: لك
Instructor: may be your pen is here
هي: ربما قَلَمُك هُنا
Instructor: tell her yes, its mine thank you
هو: نَعَم . هو لي .. شُكرا ً
هو: نَعَم . هو قَلَمي .... هو لي
Instructor: how would she ask you do you remember?
هي: هَل تتَذَكَر ؟
هو: أجِب
Instructor: yes I remember now two minutes ago
هو: نَعَم اتَذَكَر الأن.. مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين
Instructor: my papers, they were on this table
هو: أوراقَي كَانوا على هَذِهِ المِنضَدة
Instructor: she finds the and says they were under a newspaper
هي: كَانوا تَحتَ جَريدَة
هي: كَانوا تَحتَ جَريدَة
Instructor: she asks again, is this pen yours?
هي: هل هذا القَلَمُ لك؟
Instructor: referring to the pen say yes, where was it? Literally where was
هو: نَعَم , أين َ كَان ؟
Instructor: she answers” your pen was next to your papers”
هي: قَلَمُكَ كَان بجوارِ أوراقِكَ
هو: قُل
Instructor: I saw my pen two minutes ago
هو: رأيت ُ قَلَمي مُنذ ُ دَقيقَتين
Instructor: now you are speaking with your wife about
an upcoming vacation, do you remember how to say the trip
هو: الرِحلة .. رِحلة
Instructor: here’s how to say about or literally with regard to
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: بالنِسبة إلىَ .. نِسبة .. بِالـ .. بالنِسبة إلىَ
Instructor: say about the trip
هي: عنِ الرِحلَة .... عنِ للرِحلَة
Instructor: she says I want to speak with you
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هي: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَث َ مَعَكَ
هي: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَث َ مَعَكَ
Instructor: about the trip
هي: عنِ الرِحلَة
Instructor: She says again I want to speak with you
هي: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَث َ مَعَكَ
Instructor: with regard to the trip
هي: بالنِسبةِ إلىَ الرِحلَة
Instructor: or about the trip.
هي: عنِ الرحلة
Instructor: and here’s how to say this trip
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: هَذِهِ الرِحلَة .. هَذِه .. هَذِهِ الرِحلَة
Instructor: I want to speak with you about this trip
هي: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَثَ مَعَكَ عن هَذِهِ الرِحلَة
هي: عن هَذِهِ الرِحلَة
Instructor: she asks, did you book the hotel?
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هى : هَل حَجزتُ الفُندُق ؟ .. حَجزتُ
هي: حَجزتُ الفُندُق
Instructor: did you reserve at the hotel ?
هى : هَل حَجزتَ الفُندُق ؟
Instructor: how did she ask you, do you remember?
هي: هَل تتَذَكَر ؟
هو: قُل
Instructor: yes I remember now
هو: نَعَم اتَذَكَرُ الأن
Instructor: referring to the reservations, here is how she says you need to book them
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هي: لابُدّ أن تَحجِزَهُم .. هُم .. تَحجِزَهُم
هي: لابُدّ أن تَحجِزَهُم
Instructor: Do you remember the word that means “right away”
هي: حَالا ً
هي: حَالا ً
Instructor: how does your wife tell you, you need to book them right away?
هي: لابُدّ أن تَحجِزَهُم حَالا ً
Instructor: how did she say, I want to speak with you about this trip

Instructor: here’s how to tell her, I will book them today
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: سَأحجِزُهُم اليَوم .. أحجِز .. سَأحجِز
هو: سَأحجِزُهُم اليَوم
Instructor: tell her:" I want to talk with you about the trip"
هو: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَث َ مَعَكِ عن هَذِه الرِحلَة
Instructor: ask her, would you like to go to Aleppo or Alexandria?
هو: هل تُحبينَ الذَهابَ إلى حَلَب أم الاسكندرية ؟
Instructor: she answers; I prefer to go to Aleppo
هي: أُفَضِّلُ الذَهابَ إلى حَلَب
Instructor: we went there two years ago
هو: ذَهبنا إلى هُناك مُنذُ سَنَتين
Instructor: tell her, I will make the reservations right away.
هو: سَأحجِزُ حَالا ً
هو: سَأحجِزُ حَالا ً
Instructor: you want to ask her, do you remember
هو: ﺇستَمع وأعِد
هو: هَل تتَذَكَرين ؟ .. كَرين .. تتَذّكر
هو: هَل تتَذَكَرين ؟
Instructor: now try to ask her do you remember this trip
هو: هَل تتَذَكَرينَ هَذِهِ الرِحلَة؟
Instructor: trip is a feminine word in Arabic language,
referring to the trip try to say:"it was".
هو: كَانِت
هو: كَانِت
Instructor: I think it was two years ago
هو: أعتقدُ كَانِت مُنذُ سَنَتين
Instructor: ask her again do you remember this trip
هو: هَل تتَذَكَرينَ هَذِهِ الرِحلَة؟
Instructor: she says of course
هي: بِالطَبع
هو: قُل
Instructor: I tried to learn Arabic
هو: حَاوَلتُ أن أتَعلُمَ اللغةَ العَربية
هو: أتَعلُمُ اللغةَ العَربية
Instructor: I tried to learn Arabic before the trip
هو: حَاوَلتُ أن أتَعلُمَ اللغةَ العَربيةَ قَبلَ الرِحلَة
Instructor: I really tried but it wasn’t easy
هو: حقا ً أنا حَاوَلت ُ . لَكِن لم تكن سَهلة
Instructor: and I didn’t grow up speaking Arabic
هو: و لم أكبُر على التَحدُثِ باللغةِ العَربية
Instructor: ask your wife, do you remember this trip?
هو: هَل تتَذَكَرينَ هَذِهِ الرِحلَة؟
Instructor: how does she say yes of course, I remember

Instructor: Arabic language is not easy
هو: اللغَةُ العَربيةُ لَيسَت سَهلة.
Instructor: now how does she say I like to go to Aleppo this summer?
هي: أُريد ُ الذَهابَ إلى حَلَب هَذا الصَيف
Instructor: tell her, I will make the reservations today
هو: سَأحجِزُ اليَوم
Instructor: your wife says, you must book them right away?
هي: لابُدَّ أن تَحجِزَهُم حَالا ً
هو: قُل
Instructor: I want to talk with you about the trip
هو: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَثَ مَعَكِ عن هَذِهِ الرِحلَة
Instructor: later she asks you, have you made the hotel reservations?
هى : هَل حَجزتَ الفُندُق ؟
Instructor: how would she say it’s late? Literally the time is late
هي: الوَقتُ متأخَر
Instructor: you need to book them right away
هي: لابُدّ أن تَحجِزَهُم حَالًا
Instructor: tell her yes, I will make the reservations today
هو: نَعَم سَأحجِزُ اليَوم
Instructor: now you ask her, which hotel you would like
هو: أى فُندُق تُحبين ؟
هو: أى فُندُق تُحبين ؟
Instructor: Do you remember the hotel?
هو: هَل تتَذكرينَ الفُندق ؟
هو: هَل تتَذكرينَ الفُندق ؟
Instructor: she asks you, you don’t remember?
هي: ألا تتَذكَر ؟
هو: قُل
Instructor: we went there two years ago
هو: ذَهبنا إلى هُناك مُنذُ سَنَتين .. مُنذُ سَنَتين
Instructor: tell her, I will make the reservations today
هو: سَأحجِزُ اليَوم
Instructor: later you say I tried to call the hotel about two minutes ago
هو: حَاوَلت ُ أن أتَصلَ بالفُندقِ مُنذُ دَقيقتيَن
Instructor: do you remember how to say the wrong number.
It’s literally the number the wrong
هو: الرَقَم الخَطأ
هو: الرَقَم الخَطا
Instructor: now you say but I had a wrong number
هو: لَكِن كَان لدَىّ الرَقَمُ الخَطأ
Instructor: now ask your wife do you have my pen
هو: هل لَديكِ قَلَمي ؟
هو: اسال
Instructor: and have you seen my papers?
هو: وهَل رَأيتِ أورَاقي ؟
هو: هي تَقُول
Instructor: two minutes ago
هي: مُنذُ دَقيقتيَن
Instructor: your papers were on this table
هي: أورَاقُكَ كَانوا على هَذهِ المِنضَدة
هو: قُل
Instructor: I remember my papers were here two minutes ago
هو: أتذَكَرُ أورَاقي كَانوا هُنا مُنذُ دَقيقتيَن
Instructor: they were next to this book under the newspaper

Instructor: what do you recommend?

Instructor: tell him we will order a pot of green tea
هو: سَنَطلُبُ إبريقًا مِن الشَايِ الأخضَر
Instructor: now your wife says to you, I want to talk with you about the trip
هي: أُريدُ أن أتَحَدَث َ مَعَكَ عن هَذِهِ الرِحلَة
Instructor: she asks did you make the hotel reservations.
هى : هَل حَجزتَ الفُندُق ؟
هو: أجِب
Instructor: no, I will make the reservations tomorrow
هو: لا .. سأحجِزُ غَدا ً
Instructor: how do you ask the waiter for the check?
هو: الفاتورة مِن فَضلِك
