Forming questions with "هل"

This Arabic question word (interrogative) هل (hal)  is unique, as it is meant for confirming, in other words the answer will be most likely "yes" or "no".
When translating "هل", it will be 

Is?  Are? Was? Were? Do? Did ? Does? Have? Had? Has? Will? Would?

Examples:

*هَلْ ذَهْبت إلى المَدْرَسة ِاليوم ؟

Did you go to school today?
Hal zahabta ela-lmadrasati alyawm ?

* هلْ سَتأْتي إِلى المَطْعَم ؟

will you come to the resturant ?

Hal sta'ty ela - lmat'am?

* هَلْ تحِبُ أن تشْربَ القهوَةَ المُثلّجَة؟

Would you like to drink iced coffee?

Hal tohebbo an tash'raba-lqahwatal mothallajah?

* هَلْ زُرْتَ دَوْلةً عَرَبِيَةً مِن قبْلُ ؟

Have you ever visited an Arab country?

Hal zorta dawlatan arabeyatan min qablo?

* هَلْ تَلِدُ قِطَّتُكَ توَائِمًا ؟

Has your cat given birth to twins?
