عَيْنَاهَا بُنٌ يَمَنِيٌ
Her eyes are like Yemeni coffee beans
Aynaha bonnon yamaneyoun.
وَ الشَعْرُ لَيَالٍ نَجْدِيَة
Her hair is like Nadjdi nights.
wa-sha'aro layalin nadjdeyah.
تَمْشِي كَغَزَالٍ لِيبِيٍ
She walks as Libyan gazelle.
tamshy ka-ghazalin lebeyin.
وَ الخَدُ وُرُودٌ شَامِيَة
wa-lkhadou worodon shameyah.
فِي تُونُسَ حِكْتُ لَهَا ثَوْبًا
In Tunis, I tailored a dress for her.
fi tunuso hektou laha thawban .
وَ خُيوُطُ الثَوْبِ عِرَاقِيَة
The threads are Iraqis.
wa khoyoutou-thawbi eraqeyah.
وَ الشَالُ مِنْ الدَارِ البَيْضَاء
Her shawl is from Casablanca.
wa-shalou mina-ddari elbaydah.
وَ الهَيْئِةُ تَبْدُو خَلِيجِيَّة
Her shape seems Khaliji.
wa-lhay'atou tabdou khalijeyah.
زَارَتْ وَهْرَانَ وَ قَدْ وَجَدَتْ
She visited Oran (in Algeria) and found...
zarat wahrana wa qad wadjadat...
بِعُمَانَ خُيُولًا مِصْرِيَة
Egyptian horses in Oman.
be-omana khoyoulon mesreyah.
فمَضَتْ لِلأُرْدُنِ كَيْ تَحْظَى بِقَصِيدَة شِعْرٍ نَبَطِيَّة
She went to Jordan to enjoy a Nabataean poem.
famadat lelordoni kay tahza beqaseedati she'rin nabateyah.
وَ دَعَتْ لِله...دَعَتْ لله
Then she prayed to god....prayed to god...
wa da'atlellah....wa da'atlellah...
وَ دَعَتْ لله بَأَنْ يَحْمِي وَ يَصُونَ القُدْسَ العَرَبِيَّة
She prayed to god to protect and preserve the Arabian Jerusalem.
wa da'atlellah be'an yahmy wa yasouna alqudsa alarabeyah.
